Master thesis: Energy Transition Mapping
Platform and tool for Energy Systems Asset Life Cycle Management and Planning
Thesis Description:
Develop systems thinking based methods/tool support to
- Document and manage systems/assets together with their key characteristics (asset life cycle management)
- Provide access to analysis tools/methods, e.g. scenario simulations as “what if we build new factory/power plant/part of city” in support of decision making (decision intelligence)
- Integrate and facilitate efficient and effective planning, also “generation” of required “nätutvecklingsplan”1 and the alike.
- Exemplify/illustrate with (typical) “nätutvecklingsplan” with integrated e.g. district heating. Exemplify e.g. storage/flexibility capability, scenario exploration, asset life cycle management
- Options: AI/ML integration (“digital twin” with real time data measurements/learning…)
Scope:
The exact scope of the thesis will be decided together with the students and examinator with respect to the student´s background and interest.
For this thesis we are looking for one or two students with the following background:
- MSc student within control engineering, energy engineering, systems engineering, signals and systems engineering, programming or similar
Control theory
